Built around trust
Gear2Peer keeps the important rental details in one place: messages, dates, payment records, pickup expectations, and condition documentation.
Coordinate fit, pickup, and return details through the marketplace before the rental starts.
Bookings, dates, deposits, and receipts stay attached to the rental instead of scattered across texts.
Condition photos and clear listing details help both sides document what is being borrowed.
If a rental goes sideways, Gear2Peer helps mediate using the messages, dates, and condition photos attached to every booking.
How it works
Search by activity, dates, and pickup spot. Start with what is actually available near you.
Review the listing, day rate, owner details, deposit, and rental duration before checkout.
Meet the owner, confirm condition, take the gear outside, then bring it back on time.
Close the loop with a return confirmation and review so the next renter can book with confidence.
For lenders
List the paddleboard, tent, ski kit, or camp setup sitting between trips. Gear2Peer gives nearby renters a clearer way to book, coordinate, pay, and return it.
Trip-based kits
Start with the route, then fill the cart with the gear that gets you there.
FAQs
Short answers for the rental moments people check most: booking, pickup, payment, returns, and gear condition.
View all FAQsList your gear, or browse and rent gear from others near you. Everything is pickup and drop-off based, so there is no shipping.
Skis, snowboards, splitboards, touring gear, avalanche safety equipment, camping gear, climbing gear (No Ropes!), and more.
Every lender confirms their identity and payout account through Stripe before they can be paid, and both sides build a record through reviews and completed rentals. Read the reviews, look at the photos, and message the owner with questions before you book. Gear2Peer does not award badges or endorse anyone, and it never inspects, tests, or approves gear, so check the item yourself at pickup.
No. Gear2Peer does not insure gear and does not offer a protection or damage waiver product. What protects an owner is the security deposit, which is authorized on the renter's card as a hold, plus the renter's responsibility under the rental agreement. If you want your gear insured, that is between you and your own insurer.
You can cancel free of charge any time up to 24 hours before the rental starts, and you get a full refund of everything you paid, including the service fee. Inside that last 24 hours the lender keeps a small amount for holding the gear and turning away other bookings: the lesser of a half day of the rental rate, 25 percent of the rental, and $25. Everything above that is refunded. The exact figures for your booking are shown on the cancellation screen before you confirm. The same policy applies to every listing on Gear2Peer.
Pickup and drop-off locations are arranged directly between the renter and the lender in Messages. Choose somewhere public that works for both of you. Some police departments offer designated exchange areas, which many people find convenient.
Payments are made securely through our partner stripe, and you’ll receive your payout shortly after the rental is completed.
How the money and the record are handled
Every booking carries the same money and record keeping: a deposit held as a card authorization, terms locked before pickup, messages on the platform, and a payment record. Gear2Peer never inspects, tests, services, or handles the gear itself. You check the gear yourself at pickup.
